IDSF – Speaker Profile

Florian Wagner

Florian Wagner has been dealing with safety issues in various industries for several years. He is currently working as a consultant at the MSG Plaut in Vienna and advises customers from the automotive industry. The focal point of his work revolves around the interplay between functional safety and cybersecurity, using a system-based analytical approach.

During his studies in electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, he worked as a systems engineer at In-Tech in various railway projects in the field, including train protection and train doors. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he went to the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna for a master’s degree in Safety and Systems Engineering to focus more intensively on the safety of complex technical systems. In the meantime, he was also able to gain practical experience in aviation as an Avionics Engineer at Austrian Airlines.

After completing his master’s degree, Wagner worked on rail vehicles again, but this time with autonomous vehicles. In his master’s thesis, he had already begun to deal with a sensor architecture for autonomous rail vehicles and continued this work at TeLo GmbH. He also works as a part-time lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna.
