Ditte Bjerregaard is Denmark’s Acting Tech Ambassador. She spearheads TechPlomacy – a pioneering initiative elevating technology and digitalization to a cross-cutting foreign and security policy priority of the Danish government. Ditte and her team have a global mandate with offices in Silicon Valley and Copenhagen, transcending borders and regions in rethinking the traditional understanding of a diplomatic representation. Prior to her recent appointment, Ditte worked for two years as Deputy Tech Ambassador, with a special focus on the Danish Government’s Quantum Strategy and establishing the International Quantum Hub in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ditte is an experienced diplomat, and has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2007. She has served as the first Representative in Greenland, as a senior advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office and as a team-leader on investment screening, non-proliferation, export control and the Arctic for several years in the Department for Security Policy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her career also includes postings in Nepal and Afghanistan.

Ditte Bjerregaard holds a Master’s in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from Aarhus University, as well as Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Photography from the Danish School of Journalism. She is a 2023/24 Policy Fellow on Technology and Digitalisation at the Queen Mary Center, Copenhagen University and was selected for the Georgetown Executive Programme in 2017.
