Cyber Security Week positions Vienna as a global centre for network security
On Thursday, 16 February 2017, the international conference on “Cyberspace, Energy & Development – Protecting Critical Energy Infrastructure” marked the starting point of an ongoing dialogue between international players on the security of our critical digital infrastructures. The conference was organized by the the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and the Energypact Foundation in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA), the Federal Ministry of Defence and Sport (BMLVS), the Cyber Security Platform of the Austrian Federal Government (CSP), and with the support of international organizations such as the ITU (International Telecommunication Union), the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) or the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) as well as partners from the private sector such as Ernst & Young. International experts from the public and private sector from two dozen countries as well as from international organizations discussed challenges, opportunities and the necessity of global cooperation resulting from the digitization of critical infrastructures.
