Mr Donald D. Dudenhoeffer is a Research Engineer at AIT Austrian Institute for Technology. His areas of expertise are cybersecurity of operational technologies, critical infrastructure protection, and the impact of technology on security. In addition to supporting AIT, he is a Senior Cyber Security Expert in the UAE where he is supporting a critical infrastructure operator in the energy sector with the development of policy, cyber security training, and drill and exercise program.
Previous to this, Mr Dudenhoeffer was a Senior Information Technology Officer for the Division of Nuclear Security (NSNS) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) where he led the Computer Security programme providing Member States with guidance and support in developing their security programmes for their nuclear facilities. He has also been a Senior Cyber Security Consultant for the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT). Mr Dudenhoeffer is a retired Commander in the US Navy Reserves and former submarine officer. He holds a Master’s Degree in Operations Research from the US Naval Postgraduate School and Bachelor’s degrees in both Computer Science and Mathematics. He is also a certified nuclear engineer.
