Hans-Wilhelm Dünn graduated from the University of Potsdam with a degree in administrative science. From 2007 to 2009, he was the personal assistant in the office of the Minister of Economics and Deputy Minister President of the State of Brandenburg, whom he also supported there in his work as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Federal Network Agency. From 2009 – 2010, he was a member of the supervisory board of the Potsdam municipal energy supplier (Energie and Wasser Potsdam GmbH). From 2010 to 2012, Dünn was managing director of Security and Safety made in Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.. He was also a member of the supervisory board of the Potsdam public transport (VIP Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH). from 2011 to 2014. Hans-Wilhelm Dünn was a member of the Executive Board of BuCET Shared Services AG from 2016 – 2019. He was also a member of two hospital corporations (Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann GmbH, Lausitz Klinik Forst GmbH).
He has been running his own management consultancy since 2012. As a founding member and president – previously vice president and secretary general – of the Cyber Security Council Germany e.V. (CSCG), he is, among other things, head of the Energy Hub as well as a member of the eHealth Hub and advises operators of critical infrastructures on cybersecurity-related topics.
Hans-Wilhelm Dünn is a member of the advisory board of the German Fire Brigades Association and a lecturer in the master’s program in criminalistics at the Brandenburg Police University. He shares his expertise at high-profile events as a keynote speaker and panelist, and he is a frequent contact for TV stations and other media formats as well as a guest author for various newspapers, trade journals and academic publications, such as the Yearbook of European Integration. He is also the editor of the book “Cybersicherheit im Krankenhaus” (Cybersecurity in Hospitals).
