A software engineer by training, Karin spent more than a decade writing C/C++ code and wrangling Unix servers before taking a second degree in International Studies and joining the Austrian foreign service in 2013. Her previous diplomatic postings include Tehran, Madrid, and most recently serving as Deputy Head of Mission in Tel Aviv. Karin currently heads the cyber diplomacy unit at the Austrian MFA.
