Michele Giovanardi

Michele Giovanardi is Programme Officer for Digital Peacemaking at CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation. He’s also researcher and coordinator of the Global PeaceTech Hub at the Florence School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute (Florence) and a doctoral candidate at the United Nations University for Peace (Costa Rica), where he conducts research on Artificial Intelligence and human-machine interaction in peacemaking. A graduate in international security and strategic studies from the University of Bologna, he studied International Relations at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and political psychology of international relations at the University of Birmingham (UK). Previously, he worked in communication, digital education and learning technologies at the European University Institute and as a research fellow at the Institute for Conflict, Cooperation and Security at the University of Birmingham.
