Ulrik P. Ahnfeldt-Mollerup

Mr. Ulrik P. Ahnfeldt-Mollerup, is the Chief of the Countering Terrorism Section in the UN Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) in the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism. The Section provides capacity-building to Member States on issues such as countering the financing of terrorism, border security and management, cyber and new technologies, and terrorist use of weapons. It also supports on regional strategies, including in Central Asia and with the Arab Interior Ministers Council. Ulrik has worked at the UNCCT for the past eleven years in various functions. In 2021-22 he was deployed for a year with the European Union Security Sector Reform Advisory Mission in Iraq, where he served as Head of Department for Planning, Analysis and Reporting. Prior to joining UNCCT in 2013, Ulrik headed the UN Office on Drugs and Crime Programme Office in East Jerusalem for three years. He has served in a number of different UN counter-terrorism positions, incl. at UNODC’s Terrorism Prevention Branch, the Al-Qaida/Taliban Sanctions Committee, the 1540 Committee and the Counter-Terrorism Committee. Prior to joining the United Nations in 2003, Ulrik worked for the Danish Ministry of Interior on international affairs. Ulrik holds a Master of Laws from Copenhagen University and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School.
